This week I continued work on the backend schema further to try to finish it and complete all the tables we’d need to launch a good MVP of our app. I leaned into using AI heavily for this as it is very good at translating text into SQL code and create the schema that I want. All I had to do was type it out and tell it what each table should contain and how they relate to the other tables and it gave me perfectly usable SQL code to generate the schema. Here you can see a log of our conversation. I even asked a follow-up question about how it would generally improve the schema and it gave me a few suggestions of what to add on to some tables. In addition, it took a legal route and was proactive about suggesting a schema that would help me comply with regulatory agencies and laws since we are a stock trading app and subject to heavier scrutiny. Overall the conversation with AI this week was very productive and I look forward to finishing the backend next week.
