I live and work in Prineville, Oregon. I work for Oregon State University Extension in Open Campus with College and Career Access support
What is one highlight of your career field?
Getting to support students and families in finding their career and educational path and hopefully finding something they love to do.
How did you get to your career?
After helping my daughter with her college and scholarship search, I realized that the system was much more complicated than when I had attended a university and wanted to help other students and parents work through it. I was hired as the Future Center Coordinator at Crook County High School and helped them create a career/college center and bring back the ASPIRE program. Later, I was hired to do similar work for Oregon State University.
What does your average day look like on your job?
Every day is different in my job, depending on who I need to meet with, speak to or help. I work with students, parents, community members and serve on several boards in the areas. Lots of meetings!
