After taking the Life Stress Inventory I got a total score of 132 and I learned that since I was under 150 points that I have a relatively low amount of life change and low susceptibility to a stress induced health breakdown. After taking the Coping and Stress Management Skills Test I learned that I sometimes use problem-focused strategies in order to cope with stress, but I could do more to improve my stress coping. Also after taking the Type A Personality Survey I discovered that my interactions with others, while generally characterized by warmth and tolerance, are also at times tinged with impatience and hostility. When I’m stressed or frustrated, I can lash out at others or end up stewing in anger and this can be harmful to my personal relationships and overall health.

After learning all of this, it seems that throughout my career I can take impactful steps to manage my stress by learning new problem focused strategies on coping with stress since I do not have the best tools to calm myself. I also can be better with speaking out to others when I am struggling and to be more outgoing with talking about my problems.

According to Quantum Workplace, organizations are doing numerous actions to reduce stress and promote health such as offering gym memberships and healthy snacks, revamping the workplace habitat, flexibility in hours and remote work, encouraging more social activity, and even providing meditation and counseling for employees.
