Hello world!
Recently I quit my job in Washington and moved to California. The company I was working for was a big corporation and they were hindering my development as well as my ability to make money. I moved to California for a better opportunity and a change of scenery. The new company was private and was family owned and operated. There was a lot of potential to grow at this company and I eventually move up on the corporate ladder to a business development type of role.
Even with these awesome pros to the new job, I can’t deny the fact that money was one of the most important motivating factors for me taking this new job. At the end of the day, the job you have should be paying your bills as well as providing enough for you to save towards something. The reason the compensation motivated this behavior is because of what I can do with the compensation. At the end of the day, if I’m making more money, I can work less and have more freedom to do what I want in life. If I save enough money, I can retire early and also have the freedom to do whatever I want for the rest of my life. At the end of the day, no matter what way you cut it, it isn’t necessarily about making money to make money. It’s about what money allows you to do with your time everyday. That is why it leads everyone to behave a certain way.
