To begin with, after reading the scenario that was provided, where there are two potential employees that are having pretty high competencies and abilities to get accepted in the company. Their names are Avery and Jaime, where each of them has different working performances. Where, the information that I can gain from the scenario, Avery is a great candidate because when they are at their best, only a few people are better than their performance. However, usually, they could be categorized in below average employees. This means that if they want to perform optimally, they will perform more than average. Different thing if they do not have that motivation, their working performance are not better than the averages. Another candidate named Jaime, she is more consistent in giving an outstanding and satisfying of their working performance. In addition, if I was in the shoes of the business owner and had an authority to choose which person that I would hire is Jaime. It is because, even though Avery sometimes can do more than average employees if they are motivated or having particular motivation to perform their best, it is not consistent and infrequent. The most tricky thing is we do not know when they will give their best and not. If there is a danger situation and we need contributions from the employees, then they do not have particular motivation to do the job optimally. What will happen? To have smart brain is not enough, we need consistency. Talent is created, it is not given since we were born. It is created and we need the consistency to create the recruiting pattern of our thought, feeling and behavior. It is not instant. Type of job where it would be better to hire someone like Avery is having their own business (freelancer). For example, if they want to open cake shop, they can make a system of open order. Thus, when they want to make the cake, they can do the open order, if they do not have particular motivation, they do not have to make the cake. Thus, the customers are not disappointed with them. This job makes someone like Avery more valuable than Jaime because when at the very best, they can give more than their limit or even more than average people. Therefore, from this strength, we can optimally their strength by finding the best job that can adjust with their needs. Moreover, type of job where it would be better to hire someone like Jaime (low potential but high consistency) is job at the office. Because when job at the office, we need consistency of the employees to perform even though the employees have low potential. It is because, when the employees can do it regularly, again and again. They will keep learning and get the benefit of their consistency. Thus, we can use the strength to be beneficial toward Jaime. Furthermore, the job makes someone like Jaime more valuable because we emphasize the consistency that maybe not all employees have. From the consistency, a talent can be created. Also, it shows that they do not give up easily when the thing gets tough
