Here’s a list of upcoming events throughout the rest of the year. The dates highlighted are sometimes before the actual holiday because they fall on a weekend, and the dates shown are for the activities that we will be doing on campus. Some of these have been done, but some are what I would like to do new starting this year. Anyone who has a little bit of time can help, and the idea of divide and conquer is what I’m going for. If you would like to be involved, please email Amanda at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can always check out our Facebook page for events that pop up.
New Year’s Resolution
Tips for going veg. I need people for distribution.
Love Campaign 2014!
In 2012, we took chalk and marked up campus with phrases like “Love animals, don’t eat them” etc. It was a lot of fun! In 2013 we hung signs.
I need 3 or 4 people the night before, or if it’s raining, the morning of Valentine’s Day to hit up campus with some catchy phrases that will make people consider not eating meat.
-4th- 5th Tue and Wed
National Nutrition Month Tabling:
10-2pm MU Quad I would like to have people sign up for hour slots for both days. I need one or two people for each time slot that are willing to talk about vegetarianism.
St. Patrick’s Day recipe handout
-Date is TBD
Earth Day Fair
MU Quad. A tabling event to inform the public why eating a veg diet is more earth-friendly.
- 11th Friday
Passover Recipes – development and distribution, and passing out “Would Jesus Eat Meat Today?” pamphlets.
Easter Recipes – development and distribution, and passing out “Would Jesus Eat Meat Today?” pamphlets.
We could let people know about the dairy industry: How mother cows get their babies taken away, and how they are worked into an early death etc. We could table inside the MU or outside in the quad or just hand out “What’s Wrong with Dairy?” pamphlets.
-12th-13th Mon and Tue
Glass Walls/PETA Visits OSU
They will be bringing their inflatable barn back to OSU! It was a hit last year. We got covered by two local news stations. Here’s KVAL’s video, and KEZI’s story.
I need members to hang out to supervise and chat with fellow students that have questions. Each day I think they will be here from 10-3.
-26th Monday (No school)
Memorial Day BBQ and Potluck
Do Memorial Day the right way-without dead things burning on your grill!!! This will be the 4th annual event for the club. The first two times it was at my house, but I don’t have my grill anymore. I will update you on where and what time when it gets closer to that time. Hopefully, we don’t get rained out like last year!
