Here’s a list of upcoming events throughout the year. The dates highlighted are sometimes before the actual holiday because they fall on a weekend, and the dates shown are for the activities that we will be doing on campus. Some of these have been done, but some are what I would like to do new starting this year. Anyone who has a little bit of time can help and the idea of divide and conquer is what I’m going for. If it’s just me trying to do all this I may not be able to accomplish it. If you would like to be involved, please email Amanda at vegansandvegetarians@gmail.com with the subject line that is the title of the event you would like to help with.

Fun Run
Health is more than just eating well, it’s about exercise too! For members that would like to do a run or walk I’d like to meet up with you and get our bodies moving!!!
The loop that I will take you on is pretty challenging and running it will take about 45 min to an hour.
Friends are welcome-I include dogs in this category!
We should meet around 9:50am and head out at 10.
Follow 29th street to the end until you come to Timberhill Natural Area.
Map It’ll probably be raining, so wear appropriate clothing and bring a towel to sit on in the car. I recommend bringing water and a piece of fruit to have for afterwards. If you have a large mug I encourage you to make some hot coffee or cocoa to share with the others so we can warm up and hang out if we want.

World Vegan Day Bake Sale
You don’t have to bake if you would rather just represent and vice versa-bake and not table. Reply with Bake Sale in the subject line and what you would like to do if you want to participate.
I need at least 1 or 2 more people for one hour shifts from 11-12 Thursday November 1. I will be making a whoopie pie cookie, but would like others to make 1 savory item- for example a croissant with vegan cream cheese etc., and 2 different but chocolately items: for example, brownie or chocolate chip cookies.
I would like 1 or 2 people to distribute flyers the day before or the morning of.

Love Campaign 2013!
Last year we took chalk and marked up campus with phrases like “Love animals, don’t eat them” etc. It was a lot of fun!
I need 3 or 4 people the night before or if it’s raining, on Valentine’s Day to hit up campus with some catchy phrases that will make people consider not eating meat.

PETA Visits OSU
On Monday we will be handing out food samples and Tuesday we will be having people sign a petition for more vegan stuff on campus! They have enough people to get the job done, but barely. It would be great to work with these awesome folks and reach more people.

National Nutrition Month Tabling:
10-2pm MU Quad I would like to have people sign up for hour slots for both days. I need one or two people for each time slot that are willing to talk about vegetarianism.

Mother’s Day
We could let people know about the dairy industry: How mother cows get their babies taken away, and how they are worked into an early death etc. We could table inside the MU or outside in the quad or just hand out “What’s Wrong with Dairy?” pamphlets.

Memorial Day BBQ and Potluck
Do Memorial Day the right way-without dead things burning on your grill!!! This will be the 3rd annual event for the club. The last two times it has been at my house, but I don’t have my grill anymore. I will update you on where and what time when it gets closer to that time.
