The Office of the University Architect within the Department of Capital Planning and Development (CPD) assists the university in ensuring a strategically integrated and sustainable approach for short-, mid-, and long-term planning and management of OSU’s land, built environment and historic assets. Our goal is to create an integrated vision of the physical campus, landscape and facilities that supports OSU Strategic Plan and advances the teaching and research excellence at Oregon State. Within CPD, our staff of planners, designers, project managers and policy analysts provide guidance, counsel and oversight regarding campus planning, construction standards, architectural design, strategic sustainability and energy planning, and space and capital resource planning for Oregon State.
We strive to ensure continuity of the University’s commitment to design and planning excellence, making every effort to properly advise university leadership on how to accomplish and practice active, innovative stewardship and development of OSU’s built environment. We assist the Provost by developing and managing the university’s long range capital plan, capital budget, and space allocation process, among other key university physical development and program planning initiatives.
