I met with the WS Librarian, Jane Nichols, last week and found her to be very easy to talk to and extremely willing to help. She was easy to relate to and had resources on the tip of her tongue when I asked.
I had some frustration in trying to find resources online where I was only able to get the abstract of journal articles or book sections and asked her how I could remedy this. She explained to me how to use the OSU Library links to get the full text of the resources I was trying to look at. She also told me how to request publications that the library did not already have.
I have been able to easily find resources and citations with her helpful hints. I also know that she is just a click/phone call/email/quick office visit away when I need more help.
Thank you Jane!!
I have chosen Josephine Cochran, the inventor of the dishwasher, for the topic of my Culture Site project.
Josephine Cochran was born March 8th, 1839 in Ashtabula County Ohio. She was a rich woman and never had to wash any of her own dishes but thought her servants could do the work faster if they had a machine that could wash the dishes without chipping them.
Frustrated that no one else had invented such a machine Josephine was quoted as saying “If nobody else is going to invent a dishwashing machine, I’ll do it myself!(AmericanHeritage.com)”.
I am looking forward to this project because I would like to blog about educate people through a blog about sex positivity.
I do not like finances so I am not looking forward to this project. BLAH!
I hope this project helps me learn how to creat a website so I can build my own for my business later.
