Welcome to TEAMS

Improving outcomes and opportunities for English learners is a key priority in Oregon. To realize this goal, it is crucial to increase educators’ knowledge and skills for effectively teaching English Learners and foster sustained partnerships between schools and ELs’ families and communities.

This unique program – TEAMS (Teachers Education All Multilingual Students) – provides teachers, from five school districts, the opportunity to earn their ESOL endorsement  or  Dual Language Specialization online, at Oregon State University.

Grant Program for Teaching English Language Learners

The Teachers Educating All Multilingual Students (TEAMS) project is improving educational opportunities and outcomes in five Oregon districts by engaging teachers in transformative learning experiences to develop skills to effectively educate multilingual students and to build expertise in partnering with multilingual families.

Additional Benefits for participants:

  • Take six online courses to earn 18 graduate-level credits from Oregon State University to earn your ESOL Endorsement or
  • Take seven online courses to earn 21 graduate-level credits from Oregon State University to earn your Dual Language Specialization
  •  Courses are developed and taught by faculty members in OSU’s College of Education
  •  The online courses are delivered by OSU Ecampus, a national leader in online education
  • Meet personal professional development goals
  • Network with like-minded peers
  • Completing the courses may help with district salary scales
  • ESOL and DL credits may be transferred to meet option requirements within OSU’s Ed.M. program in K-12 Education

Through a federally funded U.S. Department of Education grant, you can take six online courses to earn the 18 graduate-level credits from Oregon State University required for your ESOL endorsement.

Referred to as TEAMS (Teachers Educating All Multilingual Students), this new program provides you the opportunity to take a leadership role and make a positive difference in the lives of ELs and bilingual students.
