Instructors are required to keep updated attendance data for their students.

Students should attend all classes and arrive on time. If they miss any part of class (e.g. arrive late, leave during class, or leave early), this should be recorded accordingly.

In week 1, attendance is due daily. This accommodates for the switching classes and late registration issues. In all other weeks, attendance is due at the end of the week on Sunday by 11:59pm.

In week 3, Academic Support checks for students with 0% attendance for weeks 1-3. They give a list of student names to the Student Support Advisors and Academic Support Manager for follow-up on student circumstances. This list is also shared with International Student Advising Services for follow-up regarding a student’s immigration status.

Every Monday, instructors will receive an automated email from INTO OSU’s IT department if they are missing any attendance data. Instructors should then update this attendance information as soon as possible, so that student records are as accurate and up-to-date as possible.

In the shared drive under Academic Support Team -> Attendance -> XE, a weekly archive is posted for each day’s attendance.
