Here’s the plan for turning in your spring work samples.

Dates:

  • Completed work sample due Monday, June 4th.  (e-mail me if you have a very late work sample and need an additional day or two).
  • The faculty will evaluate your work samples by the end of that week and get them back to you for changes if necessary.
  • Any revisions will be due the following Monday to ensure your licensure paperwork go in on time.
  • If you get done early, please just e-mail when your Docs folder is ready to go so we can evaluate early.

Be sure to check the handbook work sample section for more information.

Once you have passed your spring work sample, you will need to burn a CD of both your fall and spring work samples in separate folders.

In case you haven’t seen this, Ted-Ed has some great videos for all subjects.  Very impressive stuff.

Here is the PowerPoint Adry gave us last week in case you would like to refer back to it.

A reminder to bring your resume to seminar on Thursday.

Here is the Work Sample Signature Form for spring term.  Please be in touch with your supervisor to work out a timeline for getting this to me (before you start your work sample!).

And the College of Education is planning a special graduation ceremony on the Friday evening (4pm) before commencement.  I don’t have any real information in it yet, but plan accordingly!

Hello,

I graded most of the papers that are posted on Google docs. The paper was due on the 12th but there are 4 people whose papers I can’t find. Please send them to me asap. Those who completed all the assignments will get grades from me soon. Thanks.

I’ve put a sign-up sheet in the General > Spring Seminar folder.  Please sign up for 2 dates!

If you haven’t already done so, please register for the following Spring courses:

  • SED 510 (Professional Internship) (CRN #51962) (this covers your student teaching and does not meet)
  • SED 518 (Analysis of Classrooms III) (CRN #55723) (This is your spring seminar Th 4-6)
  • Math: SED 581 (Professional Development in Math) (CRN #50941) (This covers your work sample and does not meet)
  • Science: SED 592 (Professional Development in Science) (CRN #50940) (This covers your work sample and does not meet)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Please provide a response to the following prompt (in under 2 page!):

  • Please describe how model-based inquiry is related to a) the principles of high quality teaching and b) the practices we have examined throughout the program.

It is not necessary to relate MBI to each principle and practice.  Rather, please choose carefully which are the most relevant to your understanding of the purposes and tasks of MBI.

This is due by next Friday.  Please put it in your Winter Pedagogy folder and label it “Winter pedagogy final – (lastname)”.

For both the MBI and the final, please change the filename to include “(final)” at the end of it once you are finished.  This way, even though they are both due next Friday, I can identify and work on those that are done early as time permits.
