I had to wait a little bit to get in contact with Jane, due to the time difference and all. When I got her reply mail, it was full of useful tips and information! Alot of the resources she suggested I have never used before such as google scholar and the interlibrary network, these are great additions for my research. Time to sink my teeth into this wealth of information!

Stephanie Kwolek is an Polish-American chemist who invented poly-paraphenylene terephtalamide—better known as Kevlar. She was born in the Pittsburgh suburb of New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Kwolek has won numerous awards for her work in polymer chemistry. Kevlar is widely used in our everyday lives, from tires to armor vests.
