Lockouts In NBA/NFL
This past year in sports has been really crazy. First there was a lockout in the National Football League (NFL) and then there was a lockout in the National Basketball Association (NBA). This was the first time ever that there was a lockout in both major leagues. The information regarding the lockout is very confusing and I could not break it down to you if I wanted. My overall scope of the lockouts were that players in both sports were asking to get paid more money while the owners believed that the players are already getting paid enough. Eventually both the NFL and NBA resolved their problems between the players and owners; which made a lot of fans and players extremely happy.
The lockouts not only affected the players but it also affected every person in the organization and the fans. The players and people in the organization were affected because they were not getting paid during this time which bothered a lot of people. Also the players and coaches lost a lot of valuable practice and meeting times which would help in the overall development of the team. Fans were affected more by the NBA lockout than the NFL lockout because the NFL lockout ended right before the season was suppose to start so they got to see all the games. But on the other hand the NBA lockout ended during the time in which the season was suppose to be going. So instead of fans getting to see 81 regular season games they was only able to see about 66 games. Hopefully there is not another lockout for either sports because both the NFL and NBA means so much to so many people.
