This blog is the brain child of the Rural Communities Explorer (RCE) team at Oregon State University.

In our work on the RCE (www.oregonexplorer.info/rural) we deal with lots and lots of social, demographic, economic, and environmental data every day, so we’re always learning all sorts of interesting things about the data: like details about how agencies really collect or process data…  As we learn, we want to share it with you so you can be a really knowledgeable data user. We’ll use this blog to post interesting tidbits with you about data – where it comes from, how it’s collected, what it really means, and other things like that.

Come with us down the rabbit hole, and unleash your inner data geek!

The RCE team:

Lena Etuk (Social Demographer, OSU Extension Service; P.I., Rural Communities Explorer)

Vince Adams (Outreach Coordinator, Rural Communities Explorer)

Lindsay Spell (Data Coordinator, Rural Communities Explorer)

and Shannon Caplan (Faculty Research Assistant, Rural Communities Explorer)
