The Community Engagement and Leadership is hosting the Catalyst Leadership Retreat on Saturday, February 8th in the MU Horizon Room. This is a one day immersive leadership experience designed for students who are interested in starting something extraordinary by becoming catalysts of change for themselves and their communities. Instagram Takeover for CPHHS

Want to share your story with students and faculty from OSU? You can takeover the CPHHS Instagram account for a week! Students can show others what their life is like as a student in the CPHHS, from academics to hobbies to how they choose health! Email Hanna Knowles for details.

Guiding More Good Conference

This Nonprofit Conference is a great opportunity for CPHHS students! This event offers a vibrant learning experience for seasoned and emerging nonprofit leaders alike. There are a variety of sessions including fundraising, media relations, board development, and more. The Guiding More Good Nonprofit Conference will be on February 29, 2020, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center. Register today to save $66 off the regular rate!

Summer Research Experience at the University of Arizona

Gain experience in research in Cancer Prevention and Control this summer! STEP-UP is looking for outstanding upperclassman undergraduate and Master’s level students from diverse backgrounds to participate in a paid, 12-week transformative research experience in cancer prevention and control science.  They particularly encourage applications from students from underrepresented, disadvantaged, non-traditional or first-generation college backgrounds or who attend schools with limited research opportunities. Public Health Leadership Training Opportunity

The University of California Davis MIND Institute has a great opportunity for those who are in public health or a related field and interested in leadership training in the area of maternal and child health focusing on social determinants of health, elimination of health disparities, and neurodevelopmental disabilities. Participants will gain experience in clinical and research leadership, along with community engagement and advocacy. A $3,500 stipend is provided for Kennedy Krieger Institute and University of South Dakota (10-week) and $3,000 is provided for University of California (8-week) program participants. Transportation and housing for the CDC visit are paid by the program. Consortium site housing and round-trip travel for out-of-state scholars are also available. Become a TOUR Ambassador

Represent Beaver Nation. Become a TOUR Ambassador! The Office of Admissions is seeking qualified, currently enrolled undergraduates to serve as paid TOUR Ambassadors for the 2020-2021 school year. OSU TOUR Ambassadors and Diversity TOUR Ambassadors conduct campus and housing tours, represent OSU during recruiting events & open houses, and have weekly hours working in the Welcome Center. Successful candidates enjoy working with people, have a wide range of OSU experiences, and a willingness to share these experiences with prospective students and their families. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. The application closes January 26th.

Become an Academic Coach or Strategist

The ASC is currently hiring student coaches and strategists. Working at the Academic Success Center gives students a great skillset for future positions and gives them the opportunity to help fellow students feel supported on campus. Students will answer supplemental questions during the application process, and can use the same application for both positions. Contact Abbey Martin for any questions.

Apply for the Summer Health Professions Education Program

The application for the Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is now open! This is a free six week summer program for first and second year college students from underrepresented and/or socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds who are interested in health careers. Room and board is free and students are paid a $600 stipend. Students will have the opportunity to make connections and learn about careers in the health field! Deadline to apply is February 5, 2020.

OSU Scholar Dollars: CPHHS Undergraduate Scholarships

The College of Public Health and Human Sciences Undergraduate Scholarship Cycle is going on now! Applications will be accepted until Saturday, February 15th, 2020. These scholarships will be for the 2020-2021 academic year. By submitting this one application, you will be considered for hundreds of OSU scholarship opportunities!

Women of Color Caucus

The WoCC aims to empower, celebrate, and advocate for women of color at OSU by focusing on the professional development of women of color in all disciplines to enable them to become successful contributors to their field. WoCC seeks to center issues, knowledge, and experiences of women of color, and provide a safe space to build meaningful connections.
