Make a Difference Day

On Saturday, October 27, the SLI Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) is holding our annual Make a Difference Day event. For this day of service, the CCE is offering eight amazing service projects, and we invite OSU students, staff, faculty, and their children to celebrate and support our community with us by participating in these projects.

Service projects include a firewood organization project with the Mary’s River Gleaners, riparian zone restoration with the Oak Creek Center for Urban Horticulture, a Craft N Care for Meals on Wheels, a squash processing and bulk spices repackaging project through the Organic Growers Club and Lewis Brown Farm to benefit the OSU Human Services Resource Center, a garden project with the Linus Pauling Institute Healthy Youth Program, a natural area enhancement project with the Chintimini Wildlife Center, and work on the Van Buren House with Corvallis Housing First.

Space is limited, so interested individuals are encouraged to register early. Sign up is available on Ideal-Logic through this here.

Learn more about Make a Difference Day online! Check out our event on Facebook here.

TrickorTreat

On Wednesday, October 31, 5:50 pm to 8:40 pm, the SLI Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) is holding the annual Trick or Treat for Canned Goods service project. Participants will join CCE staff to go door-to-door in the Witham Hill Oaks neighborhood trick-or-treating for canned goods and other nonperishable donations to support the OSU Human Services Resource Center’s (HSRC) food pantry. This event is open to all OSU students, staff, faculty, and affiliates. Costumes are highly encouraged but should be culturally sensitive and appropriate.

To learn more, visit the Facebook event. To sign up, visit Ideal-Logic. Space is limited, so sign up early!
