Starting Spring term 2017, all students must have an approved Fall 2017 term course plan on file in MyDegrees in order to receive a PIN to register for FALL 2017 classes. First-year students will receive their Winter and Spring term PINs at First-Year Workshops or during individual advising appointments.

You can call 541-737-8900 to schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor, or you can submit this plan electronically.

Please refer to the PHHS MyDegrees planner tutorial for helpful tools on creating your plan.

Highlights

OSS Online Appointment Scheduling:

We are excited to announce a new online appointment scheduling system, TimeTrade, is now available to all students with an active ONID username and password to make appointments for April 3 and later. For March appointment scheduling, please call to make an appointment.

TimeTrade will allow students to:

  1. Schedule an appointment (for April 3 and later) with their assigned academic advisor at http://health.oregonstate.edu/advisors.
  2. Schedule a 15-minute, 25-minute, or 50-minute appointment based on the type of appointment needed.
  3. Schedule an appointment up to 6 weeks in advance.
  4. Schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment 24/7 online.
  5. Schedule a same-day appointment if an appointment is made by 8am.

Students will receive:

  1. A confirmation notification email in their ONID inbox, upon the initial appointment creation. Students will also receive a rescheduling and cancellation notification email, upon those events.
  2. An appointment reminder email 24 hours prior the appointment. If a student schedules an appointment less than 24 hours in advance, they will not receive an email reminder.
  3. An Outlook and iCal appointment file upon the initial appointment creation. This syncs the appointment to the student’s calendar if applicable.

Please note that if you schedule an appointment with an advisor other than your assigned advisor, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.  If you do not know who your assigned advisor is, you can log in to MyDegrees, which lists your assigned advisor, or you can call us at 541-737-8900, and we will be happy to help you.

The grand prizes are $25 gift cards for Amazon.com. To enter, submit your name, the name of your assigned CPHHS academic advisor, and your phone number. Critical Citizenship:

Need some elective credit for Spring term? Consider “Critical Citizenship,” offered Wednesdays 12-1:50pm. Course Description: “Critical Citizenship” is an interdisciplinary course that draws on faculty from history, philosophy, and religious studies. This dynamic, collaborative course is taught by rotation of SHPR faculty, each applying their scholarly expertise to past-, present-, and future-oriented questions about the strengths and limitations of “citizenship” and regarding pressing contemporary concerns about how to be informed and engaged citizens. The course highlights issues and events that are at the forefront of American political debate today. History 399 CRN#: 60357/Philosophy 399 CRN#: 60359/Religion 415 CRN#: 60360.

Nutrition Opportunity:

If you’re ready for an amazing summer of personal growth or looking for a way to set yourself apart from other nutrition internship candidates, it’s time to consider a summer at Gales Creek Camp for children with type 1 diabetes. Get hands-on experience working with a registered dietitian and children with a challenging condition, while having the flexibility to help lead projects, do experimental cooking, and meet great people. The camp provides housing and food, so all you need to worry about is having a great summer doing what you love! For more information, visit Gales Creek Camp or contact rob@galescreekcamp.org.

Volunteer Opportunity:

The OSU Triathlon Club is looking for volunteers for the 2017 Beaver Freezer Triathlon on Saturday, April 1. Volunteers will take shifts through the day starting at 6:00 a.m., and the race will end by early afternoon. For more information, visit Beaver Freezer.

Study Abroad:

What are YOU doing this summer!? Why not study abroad with other OSU students in London, Bangalore (India) or the Dominican Republic?

Do you need help completing an application for a study abroad summer program? We can help, and there’s still time to apply!

Would you like to learn more about the flexibility you have with the courses you can take in London, Bangalore, and the Dominican Republic?

We have advisors from OSU Global Opportunities available to help. Contact Michelle Klotz at michelle.klotz@oregonstate.edu or 541-737-1033 or stop by the Women’s Building 105 this Thursday afternoon 1-4pm. For more information, visit http://health.oregonstate.edu/study-abroad.
