Over at Soapbox Science, a terrific guest post by Miriam Goldstein, who blogs at Deep Sea News, helps would-be science communicators can figure out which of the many online options can meet their desires to communicate directly with the public (or some fraction of it).

Goldstein uses a (“somewhat tongue-in-cheek”) flowchart to match desired audiences and outcomes to the best approach to online communication, from guest-posting on somebody else’s site to actively participating in social media such as Twitter or Pinterest, to developing and writing a blog of your own. And includes several links to additional resources.
