Tuesday’s Go Greek Day

Hi Everyone,

I hope you have all been having fun getting to know women from each chapter during the last two days! I know all the sorority women have been having a blast and can’t wait to see you again! I just wanted to touch base with how tonight is going to work :) .

Here are your options for tonight:

-If you have not been to a Go Greek Day yet, please arrive at 5:45 so we can have orientation, after that you will get a chance to go around and visit all ten chapters and get to know them. You must visit all ten.
-If you have come to a Go Greek Day already, but would like to come back tonight and visit with them again, feel free! The more you get to know them the better, so come at 6:30 if you would like to get a better feel for the chapters.
-If you feel comfortable with each of the chapters and know which ones you fit in best with, and which ones you feel less comfortable with the please meet in the MU Ballroom no later than 8:15.

At 8:15 we will start winding down and at 8:30 you will meet your Rho Gammas and they will take you to the computer labs. They will explain a little bit more in depth about what is going to happen but once you are at the computer labs, a Rho Gamma will input your selections into the computer system. You will choose your top six chapters, in no order. Then, the other four chapters, you will rank, in order from one to four. One being your top choice of the four, and four being your last.

After you have made your selections you will be dismissed and can go home for the night.

If for whatever reason you cannot make it tonight to make your selections, please contact your Rho Gamma and she will instruct you on what to do.

On Wednesday, you will meet your Rho Gamma and walking group at 4:45 in the MU Quad and they will give you your Chapter Days schedule!

This may sound confusing now, but your Rho Gammas will explain the process a little more and of course if you have questions do not hesitate to ask them, that’s what they are there for!

Have fun tonight!

Go Greek Days

Hi Everyone!

I know that Formal Recruitment can be a bit confusing for everyone so I just wanted to give you guys some information about how things work on each day!

Go Greek Days:

These days take place in the MU Ballroom and are split up in to three days.

Sunday: Last names A-L
Monday: Last names M-Z
Tuesday: Everyone!
If you cannot make it to the assigned day, you may attend the opposite day.

The attire for this day is campus casual. Jeans and a cute top will work perfect.

Checkin begins at 5:30, go up the big staircase in the MU to recieve your information packet. You will then head to an assigned orientation room in which Rho Gammas will explain what is in your packet and a little more information on how the process works. After orientation has been completed, you may head down into the ballroom!

In the ballroom there will be a table set up for each chapter in which they will have member representatives waiting to greet you. This is your chance to visit the chapter booths and get to know their members, ask them questions about their chapter and sorority life, and get acquainted with the process of recruitment. You must visit all ten chapters.

Rho Gammas will be in the ballroom to assist them, feel free to ask them for help, they will be wearing white shirts. The Panhellenic Executive council will also be available for questions, they are wearing grey shirts. These women are there to help you so please do not hesitate to ask them any questions you might have!

My advice to you: make the most out of this time. This is your chance to get to know some of the members from each of the chapters. Ask them anything, and before you go, think about what qualities you would like in a future sisterhood. This will help you start the acquaintance process. On that note, try not to visit the chapters in groups of three or more. Remember this is their chance to get to know you as well, and it’s harder to do when there is a lot of you in one group.

At the end of Tuesday night, you will meet your Rho Gamma and the rest of your walking group. This will begin at 8:30. They will then take you to the computer lab where you will rank the sororities in order of which chapter you feel like you fit best with. The Rho Gammas will give you more instructions on this when the time comes.

I know this may seem overwhelming, but have no fear we are here to help you and don’t be afraid to ask questions :)

Weather Conditions

I hope everyone is enjoying the sun! Unfortunately the weather forecast does not make it look like it is going to last. Please plan/dress accordingly for the potential rain, Rho Gammas will be sitting outside of each chapter house and will be more than happy to hold on to your coats, umbrellas, etc. if you would like to bring them!

Dual-Enrolled Students

There has been some confusion for dual-enrolled students at Oregon State University and their eligibility for Panhellenic Recruitment this fall. I just wanted to clear up any confusion you all might have:

Panhellenic By-laws require students to be an admitted full-time student with 12 credit hours on the Corvallis campus to participate in Panhellenic Recruitment, the Degree-partnership program may offer some unique opportunities with individual chapters. Each Panhellenic chapter differs on the amount of credit hours that must be taken on the Corvallis campus in order to be eligible for new membership in their chapter and many of the chapters allow you to be enrolled in both Linn Benton and Oregon State with your credits split between the two campuses.

And of course if you have any questions feel free to email me at
