MLK, Jr. Day of Service

Posted January 9th, 2014 by larkinse

“Anyone can be great because anyone can serve.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Saturday, January 18th OSU students, staff, and faculty will join to honor the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. by serving the Corvallis community. 9+ service opportunities are available throughout the day for participants to connect with local Corvallis communities and organizations. The day of service provides an opportunity for students to learn about and engage in social problems and strengthen the local community.

A light breakfast will be available during the participant check-in as well as a hot lunch provided by the Student Events & Activities Center and Community & Cultural Food Program.

To volunteer, participants must pre-register. Space is limited for each service project. Volunteers can learn more about the available service projects and register at: http://oregonstate.edu/cce/mlk-day-service-projects.
