The Agricultural Executive Council hosted their annual Etiquette dinner last Wednesday, January 23. Students and faculty within the College of Agricultural Sciences were invited to attend the event held in the Memorial Union Ballroom. Doug Cochran, from Career Services spoke about proper dinner etiquette in an interview type setting, and answered questions. Dinner consisted of appetizers and a four-course meal, which included soup, salad, breaded chicken with rice pilaf, and cheesecake for dessert. It was a very successful night, and we would like to thank everyone who attended.

The College of Agricultural Sciences Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 cohort. This is a great opportunity to develop leadership and technical skills, along with giving you a competitive advantage while applying for future careers. The program is one-year and is open to all undergraduate students in the College of Agricultural Sciences. Students work closely with a mentor, community organizations, as well as other students to increase leadership strengths and prepare for post graduation. To apply please complete the attached application along with a resume, and cover letter. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 8, at 5p.m. to Strand 112.

Oregon Collegiate Vendor registration is now available to all clubs within the College of Agricultural Sciences who would like to have a booth during the FFA State Convention Career Show.  This is a great opportunity to promote your club, and increase potential future membership. There will be a total of between 1,500 and 1,600 high school FFA members at this event who could possibly be attending OSU within the next four years. Each booth is free to OSU clubs and will include 10’ x 6’ space with pipe and drape, 8’ skirted table with linen, 2 chairs, and wireless Internet. There are also add-on options available for an extra charge.  The Career Show will be held 9:30 am – 5:00 pm Saturday, March 23, and 10:30 am – 4:00 pm Sunday, March 24.
