Rangeland Ecology and Management

What is the purpose of the club?

The goal is to educate future rangeland management professionals along with the public, promote growth and development, and provide an understanding to sustainable ecosystems and their services.

When was your club established at OSU?

In 1963 and became a part of the Department of Rangeland Recourses.

What are the major events your club is involved in?

One of the main focuses of the club is to attend the Society for Range Managements annual meeting. At the meeting it gives students the opportunity to network with professionals from land and natural resource disciplines.

What are some of the competitions at the SRM meetings?

When and where are your meetings held?

The next meeting will be held Monday, October 17th at 5 p.m. in Strand 208. There are officer positions open and are available to new members.

Dean’s Reception for Rising Scholars

Associate Dean, Dr. Carry Green Welcomed scholarship recipients at the Reception for Rising Scholars held on Thursday October 6th. The students attending were selected for their outstanding academic and leadership potential. Due to this amazing Ag Honors program over 1 million dollars have been awarded to over 1,000 recipients in the last 25 years. Later in the evening Dean Ramaswamy spoke about the importance of impact and allowed all of the attending students to introduce themselves. After the banquet the Agricultural Executive Council held their first meeting of the year and pizza was provided.
