Understanding My Stress and How I Handle It

5 Reasons Why You Might Be Feeling Stressed | Cova Psychology

After taking the Life Stress Questionnaire, I learned that I have gone through a lot of change this year. My sleep changed, my routine changed, and I had some tension at work and changes in where I live. When I added up my score, it showed that I am in a range where stress can start to affect my health if I am not careful. Seeing that made me think about how I deal with stress and how much I push myself without slowing down.

I also took the Coping and Stress Management Skills Test. My main score was 71 in Problem-Focused Coping. This means that when I feel stressed, I usually try to fix the problem right away. This works well when the situation can be changed. But the report also said that this does not help as much when the problem is something I cannot control. This made me realize that I often stay busy and try to move forward even when I might need rest or a break.

Then I took the Type A Personality test. This test looks at traits like impatience, pressure, competitiveness, and perfectionism. My results showed that I do have several Type A traits. I like to do things fast, I set high goals, and I work hard to reach them. These traits help me in school and sports, but they can also raise my stress if I do not balance them with calmer habits.

Thinking about my future career, I know I need to take care of myself early. I want to build habits like better sleep, time outside, yoga, writing things down, and talking with people I trust when I feel overwhelmed. I also want to take real breaks instead of always pushing through.

When I researched what companies are doing, I learned that many workplaces now focus more on employee health. Some offer mental health days, flexible schedules, counseling, fitness programs, and mindfulness or meditation rooms. These tools show that organizations are trying to help people stay healthy and manage stress in positive ways.
