After setting up this project, I think it definitely helps me to listen, more than read. I am a visual person but I like to listen more and find it easier. I’ve always been told I’m a good listener and this has really helped in school. I noticed that I do better in lectures, rather than just online classes. After setting this all up and having the computer read to me, I found there was a difference in how much I remembered. I could remember more if I was listening, instead of silent reading. This process was a little complicated but I figured it out in the end. The program would even recognize the mouse and read whatever it was over.
I am slowly learning a lot about how to use my laptop and technology. The voice was fairly normal and unexciting but I enjoy listening and not reading silently. I believe I will use this when it gets too quiet and the article is long online. I usually can’t have a lot of music or the TV on because it’s too distracting. I really don’t like it when it’s too quiet though, so this will be beneficial to me.
