I feel like I definitely learned a lot in this course. I was hoping to find out information on technology and women. I certainly did that with my paper about Sally Fox. But I realized I needed to spend more time on it. I think my paper would have been better if I wrote it out out, revised, typed, and went over it a few times. I learned my lesson the hard way but I did much better on the next project. I am very happy with learning the new skills of using a blog online, how to take screen shots, work excel better, add embedded links, and much more.
I believe I did learn the course objectives every week too. I posted in the weekly readings, did the projects, and emailed the instructor if I had any questions. I now have better knowledge about women and how they interact in the world. This course gave me a great overview of women and technology.
I will use this course in the future for my financial situations and planning trips. I will also know how an online class works and if I want to take another one while in school. Learning about women and reading articles daily, helped me know what is going on in the world today. I also have RSS news feeds and of magazines that can help me find information or for daily pleasure reading.
This course definitely exemplifies feminist pedagogy. There was useful information on women and how they are interacting with the world. The projects really helped me learn about women and inventions out there. I took the liberty of reading the articles and writing the papers, this helped me learn. Learning this way was different than in a traditional classroom. The instructor did a good job of suggesting websites and help, without firm right or wrong answers. This way, students could learn about everything and be open minded about all interpretations.
