There are several problems that have been identified with the installation of WebPacPro on the library online catalog. We are working with Innovative to get these problems fixed as soon as possible.

Known Major Problems

  • Library catalog does not work with Firefox for Mac browser
  • Phrase searching is not working in keyword searches
  • Cannot re-sort by Date or Title in keyword search results

Known Minor Problems

  • Summit button has moved and there is an extraneous line on some screens where it used to be
  • Additional Resources button has a box around it on some screens

III completed the WebPAC Pro upgrade to our Oasis system so that now when you do a keyword search the results will be ranked by relevance.

One unexpected benefit is that finally it’s possible to just hit return instead of needing to click the Search button after you’ve entered your Keywords. This is something we’ve been requesting for quite a long time and it’s nice to see that it now works.

However, III encountered a problem that they have not observed before when upgrading other sites.

You’ll see this phrase: 25 results found. Sorted by relevance | date | title. Once you’ve gotten your results you should be able to click on either date or title to resort the list. This is not currently working. Instead you get an error message saying NO ENTRIES FOUND. III is working on this as an urgent problem, but since they have not seen this behavior before they’re unable to tell us how long it will take to fix it.

Newsbank, the provider for our subscription of the Oregonian, is experiencing a brownout at its server location. At this time, they do not know when service will be restored. I will update this message when the Oregonian is available again.

UPDATE: Access has been restored to this electronic resource.

We are experiencing intermittent difficulties with the Ebscohost databases, including Academic Search Premier and Business Source Premier. We are working with Ebsco to fix this problem. If you are unable to access an Ebsco database, and are located on campus, try this link: Ebscohost and click on the Ebscohost Web link at the top of the page. If you are not on campus, access will be restored when the problems are fixed.
