SAGE Research Methods contains more than 1000 books, reference works, journal articles, and instructional videos. The site is designed to guide users to the content they need to learn a little or a lot about their method. The Methods Map can help those less familiar with research methods to find the best technique to use in their research.

SAGE Research Methods Cases are stories of how real research projects were conducted. The collection provides more than 1100 case studies, showing the challenges and successes of doing research, written by the researchers themselves. They explain why the researchers chose the methods they did, how they overcame problems in their research and what they might have done differently with hindsight: the realities of research that are missing from journal articles and textbooks.

SAGE Research Methods Datasets is a collection of teaching datasets and instructional guides that give students a chance to learn data analysis by practicing themselves. Through practicing analysis using real data from SAGE Research Methods Datasets, students can see how analytic decisions are made, helping them to become confident researchers.

SAGE Research Methods Video contains more than 125 hours of video, including tutorials, case study videos, expert interviews, and more, covering the entire research methods and statistics curriculum. Videos can also be embedded into course management systems for exam preparation. Through these videos, students can find extra help and support to guide them through every step of their research project and succeed in their research methods course.

Counseling and Psychotherapy Transcripts (Volume 1, Volume 2) is a unique online series that lets students and researchers peer deeply into the client-therapist relationship and follow the progress—and the setbacks—of clients across multiple therapy sessions. This multi-part collection is growing to include 6,000 transcripts of real therapy sessions, 40,000 pages of client narratives, and 25,000 pages of reference works in one cross-searchable interface. Together, these materials bring the therapeutic process to life and provided unprecedented levels of access to the broadest range of clients.

Volume 1 lays an important foundation for clinical work with clients by providing 2,000 real-life, fully anonymized transcripts alongside an extensive selection of primary accounts, handbooks, and reference works.More than 25,000 pages of reference material round out this volume, complementing and contextualizing the primary sources. Content includes encyclopedic entries, textbook case studies, and how-to material from leading professionals in the field.

Volume 2 builds on the foundation of the inaugural edition with 4,000 new transcripts of actual therapy sessions. Because all content was recorded in 2012 or later, Volume II is an ideal resource for examining the most up-to-date therapeutic approaches and methods and their real-life applications. The collection features a diverse set of clients, a wide range of presenting issues, and multiple therapeutic approaches, making this an outstanding resource for teaching and research.

Oregon State University Library patrons now have access to the Academic Video Online (AVON) collection from Alexander Street Press. AVON provides access to over 63,000 streaming videos on a wide array of subjects ranging from arts, education, travel, How-to, travel, STEM topics. Users can also find and view documentaries, news programs, short clips, feature films, from popular producers such as BBC, A&E, PBS, American Academy of Pediatrics, 60 Minutes, and much more.

Kanopy is a streaming video resource with a collection of over 26,000 films on every subject imaginable and from leading producers such as Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, New Day Films, HBO California Newsreel, Kino Lorber, PBS, BBC, First Run Features, The Video Project, Media Education Foundation, Documentary Education Resources. Kanopy’s website makes it easy to watch, share and discuss films across campus.

The platform is fully compatible with screen reader technology, and all of Kanopy’s films are closed-captioned and have transcripts available. In addition, Public performance rights are included!!

Closed Captions are now available on many of the 399 classic and contemporary feature films in the World Cinema Streaming Video Collection that are not already subtitled. In addition, most of the films with closed captions also now have searchable, interactive transcripts.

This ever-expanding collection includes the complete content of Alexander Street’s collections in popular music, classical music, jazz, American song, world music, and the Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries. The World Cinema Collection contains over 380 streaming feature films from around the globe. From the silent era to contemporary films, this collection spans over 100 years of international films from Europe, Japan, America, Africa, Latin America, India, China, the Middle East and more. This collection is a useful resource for studying the history of cinema, learning about the cultures of various countries, or improving foreign language skills.

LGBT Studies in Video is a cinematic survey of the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people as well as the cultural and political evolution of the LGBT community. This first-of-its-kind collection features award-winning documentaries, interviews, archival footage, and select feature films exploring LGBT history, gay culture and subcultures, civil rights, marriage equality, LGBT families, AIDS, transgender issues, religious perspectives on homosexuality, global comparative experiences, and other topics. LGBT Studies in Video provides students and researchers across disciplines a multi-content perspective on the LGBT political, cultural and social movements throughout the twentieth century and into the present day. It also provides key resources of interest to students and researchers in sociology, anthropology, psychology, counseling, history, political science, gender studies, cultural studies, and religious studies.

LGBT Thought and Culture is an online resource hosting books, periodicals, and archival materials documenting LGBT political, social and cultural movements throughout the twentieth century and into the present day. The collection illuminates the lives of lesbians, gays, transgender, and bisexual individuals and the community with content including selections from The National Archives in Kew, materials collected by activist and publisher Tracy Baim from the mid-1980s through the mid-2000s, the Magnus Hirschfeld and Harry Benjamin collections from the Kinsey Institute, periodicals such as En la Vida and BLACKlines, select rare works from notable LGBT publishers including Alyson Books and Cleis Press, as well as mainstream trade and university publishers.

The 60 MINUTES: 1997-2014 online collection provides 350 hours of high-definition video from television’s most preeminent news program, including hundreds of segments not available anywhere else in the world. This resource also includes 175 hours of bonus segments from the popular CBS News program Sunday Morning.
