Graduate Anthropology student participates in participatory action research project with Latino youth

The graduate applied anthropology student Argenis Hurtado Moreno will be participating this year in the project “Building Latino Youth Leadership Through Photovoice and Action Planning”. The project, which is funded through a grant from the Benton Community Foundation, will develop a curriculum for Latino high school students focusing on developing leadership by researching their communities through the photovoice method. The students will learn about leadership and photovoice, collect data, analyze it, and present findings and action proposals to the Corvallis community. Argenis will be working with Nancy Vargas, a doctoral student in Public Health, and Ricardo Contreras, adjunct instructor in Anthropology.
