In this class students will learn how to use career development theories, assessments, and individual/group assignments to explore different career options that align with their values and will help them to make informed decisions for their future.

Learning Outcomes

  1. At the end of this course students will be able to analyze career development theories and compare their workplace interests using career assessments.
  2. At the end of this course students will be able to explain how one’s personal or cultural values can affect their career decision-making process.

Final Assignment

The ‘Career Theory Identification and Alignment’ assignment will be the final project students submit for this course. Students will analyze the four basic career development theories and describe how they align with career paths of interests determined by a career placement test. It supports progress towards learning outcomes #1 and #2. Students will be able to reference the rubric for grading criteria.
