Alessandra Luchini: Cancer Fighter  April 12th, 2012

“I’ve met strong women in research who have been role models for me, so I am honored when young women approach me and ask for help.” – Alessandra Luchini

Alessandra Luchini is a brilliant 34 year-old Italian woman who invented a technology that can detect cancer and serious illnesses than anything we’ve ever seen before! She is originally from Rome, Italy but now resides in Washington DC. She is a professor at George Mason University, which also where she does her research on her technology. She first became interested in science when she saw Galileo’s telescope on an elementary school field trip. She thought the world was full of possibilities and new discoveries if one just tried to look for them.

“Most of the time, the experiment doesn’t work. My attitude is that (at the end) it’s going to work. It’s part of the method.” – Alessandra Luchini on thoughts of her research.
