When it comes to experiences in applying for jobs they can vary tremendously. These experiences can be recorded as extremely relevant or even disappointing. This not only depends on you as an applicant but also the job you are applying for and even whoever is conducting the interview.
However, when thinking back to my most recent job I had applied for it actually went quite well and very easy. I applied to be security personnel at a local night club. I applied after my roommate had applied, was awarded the job and even worked a couple of shifts. He really enjoyed it and even put in a great word for me as well. The interview went a little something like this; I walked into the venue, shook hands with the owner, we took a stroll throughout the facility and as he gave me a tour he showed me the ins and outs as well as the dos and the don’ts. After some small talk as well as communication on what the job entails he shook my hand and asked if I was interested. I had agreed and the job was mine from there on out! Obviously this isn’t a career job, but it is a nice way to get out of the house, have some fun, as well as make some quick easy cash during my weekends.
The interview and application process didn’t have too much of an impact on my desire to work there. I really enjoyed how it was easy, laid back, and how much potential there was to have fun while working, and ultimately making money. Compared to some interviews where the interviewer puts his or herself on a pedestal and it can really rub you the wrong way. In the end, I really enjoyed how the interview as well as the overall experience and process went!
