Since I created this blog and started my senior year in college, I never stopped making connections and building my network. Result? My hard work paid off for the first time – Hey Jane! had her 1st customer and she is the beautiful bride to be Brooke! Brooke’s brides maid team is going to look fabulous in Hey Jane 2011 Bridal collection on Hawaian beach in July 2012. And Brooke herself is going to rock the wedding rehearsal in one of the cocktail dresses in the collection.
Here’s the 1st set of hand sketches. Take a look!
Next step is to color the illustrations after Brooke chooses the styles she wants, and then…..drape our first set of muslins! Complete illustrations and 1st muslins are due Oct 15th. photos of them will be posted once they are done. So keep up with me!
You know what to say if you like it: “It’s made by Jane!” ————-Hey Jane! Couture

My dear viewers,
I started dreaming about being a fashion designer since age 14. My very first fashion creation was a dress I made for my Barbie doll under the instruction of my grandma
Then I started my 1st fashion portfolio (which I will post) when I was 14. In that portfolio, I made my fashion illustration with color-paper and the cheapest color pencils you can buy lol, but I was very serious about them and put each design together in a binder named: Future #1 Fashion Designer’s Portfolio – by Jane. Again, I will post pics of my fashion journey soon:)
Today, you, my lovely friends, are about to witness the FIRST TIME I put my little collection on a fashion show! I didn’t care it was only a small part of Beaver Blvd event, it was a BIG DEAL to me.
I am not one of the students in the 4-year apparel design program; I am that one girl who read books about flat pattern and draping and taught myself to make my 2D designs into 3D garments.
Here I want to say, without my friends Katie Sherman, Stephanie Haslett, Jason Smith, roommate Gary Chou, event organizer Amanda Grisham and my family, I wouldn’t have this opportunity to take the 1st little step closer to my dream. Thank you all with all my heart!

What is Hey Jane! Affordable Couture?
My name is Jane, a senior college student at Oregon State University studying fashion merchandising. Hey Jane! is the fashion brand name that I wish and believe that one day will be in everyone’s closet.
Hey Jane! IS couture fashion, which means each garment that appears in the collections will be custom-sewn for my beloved customer upon request. However, Hey Jane! Couture is NOT expensive to be damn straight forward (LOL)! Because you get to choose the fabric quality, colors, and even patterns that you prefer; then you set a price range for me and I will be the magician who puts those requests together into the clothing style that you asked for. And THAT is what Hey Jane! Couture is about.
My blog is dedicated to sharing the stories and journey of my “pursuit of happiness”. I am only one of the millions of young ladies with BIG dreams, so I don’t know how to thank you enough for viewing my experience. Keep following my blog, my lovely viewers, and the day that I post: “First Hey Jane! Couture boutique is officially open for business!” I want you to come in my store; I want to meet you and make something with my own two hands just for you, because without any readers, no book will come alive! And without you, my one and only dream will never come true!
