Artificial intelligence is the emulation of human cognitive processes by mechanical means.  The concept stems around the idea that intelligence is copyable and constructible.  Intelligence itself is not defined well and little is understood about it.

Ordinary uses of the term constitute computer systems that are not only able to process data but analyze the data as well.

I believe that artificial intelligence is the purpose of human existence.  Our goal as a race is to create intelligence to better suit the need to understand the world around us.  As we continue to grow as a global community, it seems that those that are truly beginning to understand the world are the ones that are leaving the world.  Our life span is catching our ability to learn and artificial intelligence is the next step towards our lust for knowledge and understanding.

Other people see this concept as a means to an end.  The corporate giant would see AI as a race of creatures that could walk beside us who would not tire, they would not have rights, and most of all they would not be paid.  They are simply machines, intelligent machines who will do as they are told.

Essence is essentially the characteristics of a thing which give it definition and purpose.  The existence of something in time and space.  The concept that gives rise to the idea of God and that all existence stems from the same essence.

Society seems to see essence, or purpose as a way of playing on the people’s insecurities.  Depriving them of their confidence they are taking away their essence to control them to buy stock in material objects.

My personal belief in essence is that it is the picture of each of puzzle pieces.  It isn’t the part that fits together, it is the picture that we hold which develops with us.  I feel that people have a sense for a good essence and will be attracted to that.   As opposites attract, a dark essence will always want to be with a brighter essence to create contrast in the larger picture.  This is what makes our lives the way they are.

Other meanings assigned to essence refer to a life force, the stuff which makes a person separate from a zombie. Also feminists have see the biological and cultural differences that govern women’s outlook as a form of essence as well.

Enlightenment has two meanings in philosophical terms: the illumination after darkness and the fulfillment of the human quest for perfect understanding.  While the two concepts share the image of light overcoming darkness, the power of reason and the awakening of wisdom and awareness are completely different spectrum of thought.

The connotation of enlightenment is strongly associated with eastern religions such has Buddhism and Hinduism.  A common question for people today is what is the meaning of life, religions like these hope to give you access to this though their teachings and encouragement towards enlightenment.

My personal belief in enlightenment is that it comes though deep searching within ones’ self to find a connection with the cosmos.  Finding pattern within all things to realize the part that one plays in the pattern that is to come.  The realization that we are simply a step along the great path of creation.  Referring to the cosmos in more than simply stars and light, but every particle, every wave of energy, the patterns which give life to matter and the matter which gives life to our planet.  The planet that perfectly created organic proteins which in turn gave rise to organisms.  These organisms that led to our evolution.  The great steps of creation which we are all part of.

Other people see the concept of enlightenment as a means to opening the mind to a greater form of thinking.  That we may some day use more than the 10% we are thought to use of our brains.  A concept that resides in science fiction.

Zoroastrianism is a monotheistic religion whose key concepts may have influenced the theologies of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.  It originated in Persia and was founded by the priest and philosopher Zarathushtra.

Though Zoroastrianism is not a term commonly used the idea of freewill to choose between good and evil still exist in most cultures today.  The ideals of good entail preserving and perpetuating life and following a useful occupation while raising a family.

I personally believe that freewill is a given right to people, however, the choice of right or wrong is a silly concept as humans should have no problem in doing the right thing when called upon to do it.  The idea of right and wrong does not exist as many people see it today.  There is not a choice, simply the actions exist and flow from one to another.

The form of death in Zoroastrianism was not burial or cremation, it was to be placed in a tower to rot and let the birds eat away at ones body.  People would think today that this concept is wrong and that it is no wonder that the religion is almost extinct today.

Naturalism in philosophy is the stance that there is nothing in this world that is out of the ordinary.  Everything in reality is the natural world and there is nothing more than that.

While in today’s society, many people see naturalism as a religion or way of thought that revolves around returning to nature.  Either way the focus is clearly on the world we live in and not on the concepts that we hope to one day create though technology.

My personal belief is that there are supernatural things in this world.  There are explainable things happening without an understandable cause.  Not understandable with the given knowledge of the day at least.  One day I hope that we will be able to control more than we do now simply though our minds.

The only difference between naturalism and materialism is only in allowing for the possibility that reality may not be purely physical.  That direct experience may not be greater than the mental abstractions that we experience everyday.

Meaning is the presumed referent of the speaker, or the object the speaker is referring to.  Language we use is imprecise and ambiguous, therefore we cannot actually know the ideal message of any work without knowing the meaning of the words.

Meaning in normal usage refers to somethings purpose or a clarification of a generalization.  The sentence itself gives meaning to the words which are simply symbols of the linguistic structure.

My personal beliefs in meaning is that words are generalized  symbols to represent a vague combinations of sensory stimulations which are common to all people.  The meaning itself is an socially accepted generalization given to the sound.

Modern thought says that the only true way to decipher meaning is though the use of logical positives where empirically you can verify whether or not something is true or false.

Neoplatonism was a philosophy developed by Greek and Roman followers of Plato, and later influential in early Christianity.  That the world we live in is only a shadow of the true world, which is pure and unchanging.

One could compare this as souls in heaven wishing to go to Earth and live again.  I am not very familiar with the idea, but I am sure it exists.

My personal belief is that we are all being of infinite knowledge, our lives are blips of time where we can experience in our minds the limitations and struggles that go along with living, and experiencing death.  We purposefully handicap ourselves so that we can learn what it is like to be less than what we truly are.

Others see the idea in the notion that a work of art is the imperfect embodiment of a sublime idea.  The idea that would metaphysically transpose in thought, in a universal language.

Logic is the study of what constitutes valid reasoning.  Essentially studying logic is searching for a method of valid and consistent reasoning which is distinguishable from invalid, inconsistent reasoning.

One can logically think about a game of chess by formulating a map of all possible movements to force the opponent into a point of submission.  The ability to think farther into the future given a set amount of combinations is the ordinary use of logic.

My own personal belief stems across the idea that all actions are interconnected. Therefore with logic the possible combinations of actions all lead to a single outcome.  This single outcome in human terms is a creation, or design which leads to understanding our purpose.

Aristotle believed logic to be a set of truths and falsehoods.  An object was defined as something and it was then seen as no other objects except for what it is defined as.  The problem that I can see here is that all proofs done in this way can only prove as much as it assumes.  If it is all based on assumptions then there is no real truth.

Zeno’s paradoxes are a series of impossibilities of motion that were used to demonstrate logical contradictions and absurdities.
Zeno points out in once case that in order to go from point A to point B, one has to first cover half that distance. And of course, in order to reach that halfway point one must cross half that space as well, and so on, into infinity. Given this, all motion is impossible.
However, one does not simply exchange points of existence in my own understanding of motion. We are transposed between points and therefore the movement from one point to another is the addition of the net difference in points. To get from one point to another you must add each of the differences in net change. Movement over 1 unit of space would be the integral of one over “x+1” from 1 to infinity which is equal to 1.
Others may see this paradox as a reason to believe that nothing actually exists, that their existence is nothing and this paradox supports their thought.

Conceptual Precis I

The concept of Freedom within the doctrines of divine omniscience and preordination seem crippled, yet without divine law a social exchange of perilous anarchy for security exists.

Freedom is the capacity to self actualize creatively within social consequences, while having the right and resources to pursue one’s ambitions and be one’s own master.

The unconscious mind is a logical harmony on a scale infinitely large.  Each of our conscious minds are connected to it though complex processes which defy prediction.  Our freedom is experienced though the conscious mind.  However, the unconscious mind is what makes us all connected in a greater existence.

St. Augustine, found freedom and predestination to be compatible, because to be truly free is to know and follow the divine will.  I believe we  live free, but the consequences of our actions may be larger than we can humanly see.  Our actions produce nothing if we fail to build ourselves and those around us; as we are all interconnected on the unconscious level.
