My daughter turned 18 in March. The last of my children to reach adulthood. And in her independence, moved out of this home and is working on making her life independent from mine.

I should have the “empty nest” syndrome, and I do miss her being here. My life is full, I am busy, there is much to learn, much to do, many people in the world that need help and a compassionate person to maybe just reach out.

My home is not lonely, I have the man I married here with me. And life between us is becoming more special and more fun day by day. I appreciate all he does, but do not tell him enough how valued he is. I work, and I am starting to look forward to returning to him more day by day, just as I did when we were younger, when the kids weren’t part of our lives.

My son lives close and I am so glad he IS part of my life, also.

How could you not look forward to another day, when there is so much to do, so much to be done, so many possibilities out there?

Well, the opportunity of how I look at that makes all the difference in the enjoyment of what I do.

Yesterday I not only helped someone in need (one client has MS, and her stress level is relieved when I can help her) I was helping two people in need (one person that helps me clean, financially needs the extra little bit).

I have had opportunities through my writing, to help someone that was going through a hard time, there is something they can keep to know someone cares about them.

Opportunities happen everyday.

Just this morning I had an opportunity to shake the hand of a man, I had never seen before. The lines on his face, the sound of his voice, led me to believe he is working on overcoming or has overcome some type of addiction. He was shaven and cleanly dressed. I could have passed him up or chose to do what I did. Shake his hand. You know what he said, he said he was blessed. An opportunity to make someone feel welcome in this world.

Hello World!

I am here and am very lucky and very thankful!

I have a great job. I love it very much. The work, the people I work with, the programs that I work with at the extension office.

I am in good health, still have my hair, my eyesight, and can hear. (Although, sometimes it’s selectively, lol).

I love the early morning, when the sun peaks over Mt. Hood, (which is right out my front window), and I was able to sit in my backyard with my daughter last evening, and overlook the pond in the back yard.

My favorite place to visit is the beach, and hopefully, will be able to go there next weekend.

Well, there is so much to learn, so much to do. My life is full.
