Justin Conner, senior zoology student and recipient of the Provost Scholarship, and Christine and David ’76 Vernier share a passion for the sciences and bringing minority students into the field. Conner launched the Oregon State club, CAMS – Council for the Advancement of Minorities in Science – that connects minority students to mentors, research opportunities, and professional development. The Vernier Program for Mentoring and Diversity in Science will support additional efforts that build leadership in science for underrepresented students.
