AED Unit Update: Facilities has received a second unit, which has been installed in the Guin Library.
Parking Lot Striping: In lieu of contracting out, Facilities has purchased a machine for HMSC, and will restripe the student housing lot, as well as a portion of the ODFW and main parking lots, when weather conditions are suitable.
Safe Haven Hill: The storage container has been placed at the top of Safe Haven Hill. It’s now up to the community to decide what supplies are to be stored there, and how we might raise the funds to pay for those supplies. A soup kitchen will be held on April 12, with funds raised to be doubled by Director Bob Cowen.
EH&S Confined Space: HMSC has been rated in full compliance with these procedures.
HMSC Quick Reference Brochure: Initial printing will be provided for comments to the incoming spring semester students. The “final” brochure will be available shortly thereafter.
OSU Alert Portal: The new Alert system (AT&T Rave Guardian) will be operational on March 31. All personnel are encouraged to register on the website. Mike Bamberger will work with HMSC to expand its use for all personnel on the HMSC campus.
Evacuation Modeling: Dan Cox, OSU Professor in Civil & Construction Engineering, will talk on “Preparing for the Big One: Tsunami evacuation scenarios for Newport’s South Beach Peninsula” at “Science on Tap” on April13th.
