Finalized

Well, the due date is officially here for my Final Portfolio. For the past few months, I have put so much effort into this site for a final project. While this class has certainly pushed my boundaries of skimming thousands of years of history, I have expanded the site to coincide with all I have learned. I believe that I have met all of the criteria for the project and hope those who stumble on it enjoy.

Keeping it Up!

Yesterday, I was struggling with the right words for one aspect of this site and decided to have a Zoom chat with my boyfriend’s devoutly Catholic mother. In addition to seeing her for the first time a few months, the conversation was extremely helpful! She emphasized that she herself has taken several History of Christianity courses in her spare time and shared some of her sources and where to look! She also made good suggestions for timelines and maps that I hadn’t considered! As this is replacing my final essay, I am truly putting my all into the site and the WOW factor! Hope you’re enjoying your stay!

Was sent this beautiful painting of Mary!

Work!

This week has been a little hectic with work and the constant shifts in our country’s handling of the protests and the pandemic. Still, I have managed to keep up with this site despite all of my personal issues. I added more images to my homepage and updated my Maps page. I still really need to find a good system for timelines for that aspect of the page – the final date is closing in on me for this part.

Keep it up!

Today has been a great day in the update of this site. I started adding pictures to my definitions to liven them up a little – which has definitely helped in the creativity aspect of this assignment. As we’re moving through the 10th and 11th centuries in this class, I am noticing more shifts in religious affairs and ideologies around the world! I am excited to incorporate both Islam and Orthodox into this site.

I am very thankful that I can utilize the internet for historical studies. As someone who is aiming for public history (particularly museums), I think websites like these are going to be increasingly important [especially post Covid-19] Thanks for reading about my progress and wish me luck!

A Historian’s Forum!

While this website is the product of extra credit and a study guide, I am genuinely enjoying the process! As an undergraduate hoping to get into public history, the integration of technology into history is a fantastic idea to me!
