				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong><em>Discussion Settings</em></strong> group relates to the different ways that comments can be controlled, when notification should occur, and customization levels for comment authors. It contains the following items:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Default Article Settings</strong>:
<ul>
<li>Attempt to notify any blogs linked to the article (slows down posting) &#8211; default enabled</li>
<li>Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks) &#8211; default enabled</li>
<li>Allow people to post comments on the article &#8211; default enabled</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><strong>E-mail Me Whenever</strong>:
<ul>
<li>Anyone posts a comment &#8211; default enabled</li>
<li>A comment is held for moderation (should be reviewed prior to publishing) &#8211; default enabled</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><strong>Before a Comment Appears</strong>:
<ul>
<li>An administrator must always approve the comment &#8211; default disabled</li>
<li>Comment author must fill out name and e-mail &#8211; default enabled</li>
<li>Comment author must have a previously approved comment &#8211; default enabled</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><strong>Comment Moderation</strong>: Triggers for possible spam or inappropriate content alerts &#8211; requires administrator to review comment prior to publication</li>
<li><strong>Comment Blacklist</strong>: Trigger for automatic spam or inappropriate content</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Avatars &#8211; </strong>An image that follows a user from blog to blog and appears beside the username when a comment is made on an avatar enabled site</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Avatar Display</strong>: Whether or not to show avatars on your site</li>
<li><strong>Maximum Rating</strong>: The self-imposed site rating &#8211; uses movie ratings as a rating standard</li>
<li><strong>Default Avatar</strong>: A default avatar to use if users don&#8217;t&#8217; have their own</li>
</ul>
