During the teach project I was challenged to learn a new piece of technology that I have never thought to learn because I did not think that it had the potential to benefit me. I learned that it can benefit me in connecting with my child in a technology that he enjoys and now that I have the skills to participate it is fun. I can also take this project as a small step in learning and expand with the new Wii Fit module. I think that would be fun for being more active especially in the upcoming winter months when it will be difficult to get outside. I progressed in this project and it was more fun than work. I enjoyed piecing my project together because it was something that I could do with my son. I have not had the opportunity up to this point in college to do so and it was refreshing and new. Different is good and we need to be pushed. I feel that I have been pushed further in this class than I have been in quite some time. Thank you.

this week I am focusing on my project and gathering the tools that I will need to complete it. I have asked my eleven year old son to work with me on the technology. I thought that it would be a great bonding experience and he can be my IT guy! I am going to explore using a flip video to capture video of playing the game and uploading it. I will also take digital camera shots of us playing the Wii to show from start to finish how easy it is to use.

I would like to propose to teach the Wii system. I am totally inept on game systems. My son is a wiz. He asks me to play all the time and I have to say that I do not even know what buttons to push. I think that many women are like me. I am only thirty three but I do not have the technology to be able to keep up with the generation of today. This project will enable me to do that.

The tools that were most helpful to me during the financial project were the media buttons which were the star and kitchen sink buttons and you can link from your computer and a url. I was able to link a you tube music video to my financial project as well. I did that because as I was working into my fifth hour on sunday having a great time. Really. I was thinking about this song by JoDee Messina that I used to love called Heads Carolina Tails California. I knew it had to be in the song. Before this class and the media I have learned I would not have been able to link it to the project. I also was able to paste pictures into the project using a feature with screenshots however I used the feature of shift command 4 which only takes a picture of a select section. You take crosshairs and spread it over the section that you would like to capture and once you let of the mouse pad it captures. This is on a mac so I dont know if this will work on a pc but it was great. I know have pictures all over my desktop.

I am going to focus on a move to North Carolina because it intrigues me. I would love to be able to plan it out and see if it would really be possible and when. Will I be 50 and retired or will it be in the next 5 years? This project is going to be fun because I can probably get in alot of research about the area.

My dream if I could pursue it would be to quit my job…sell my house and move across the United States with my family to North Carolina and live in a coastal beach town in a home on the water. I would like to be financially stable and be able to work but not stress about the finances. I have thought about this for years and it periodically runs through my head. In particular during these hot summer days when I am struggling with the heat and in the middle of the misery of it. I dont enjoy it and I have always wanted to live on the east coast. Well see. Maybe I will hit the lottery even though I dont play it. You think????

In hind site now I see that the culture site would have been easier if I had been introduced to some of the technology of blogging, uploading images to the blogs, and if I had found a topic that had more information. I struggled to find information about my topic of choice and I thought that there would have been plenty of material for such an important discovery. I was wrong. I only learned how to paste the images after about 10 tries and three days but hey I did it. I could only find one picture though. I am truly amazed of the lack of materials on Giuliana. I wonder why this is?

This week…I wrote the first draft to my paper. I had great difficulty finding sufficient sources for my paper to make it the 2000 words. I plan on looking for more this week to add and edit to include more information but with the help of multiple librarians I was only able to find a few websites and one book. The book only had a small paragraph. I would like input after reading the first draft to see what I can add to make my paper more inclusive of sufficient information. Is there anything that you would like to know about Giuliana?

I received  some help today from Jane Nichols in the Oregon State Womens studies department. She told me that there might not be a whole lot out there directly on Giuliana Tesoro however she told me to look at a few websites which had some information on her biography. Then she told me to look into the topic on a search for women in chemistry as a subject. That really helped because when I did that through my local library I found a book that will work for me. The 24/7 librarian was really cool. I was able to chat with someone right away and talk about what I needed. She found a website for me to use as well as a book to look for at the library. The Camas library had it. Yeah!!!!
