Well, I know I’m not the only working mother out there trying to earn her degree, but I will be absolutely over the frickin moon if I can accomplish this great feat before my first born does. (He is a freshman with sophomore standing so the pressure is on!) It is odd to think that I was just a little bit older than he is now when I left college to be a mom. I had always planned to go back, but life’s little ups and downs just kept getting in the way. A couple of years ago, with some prodding from a very dear friend, I finally gave myself permission to reconsider my own goals and aspirations. After all, I wasn’t getting any younger, and the timing was never going to be perfect, was it? That’s when I joined the rest of the night owls out there who are working all day so they can study all night just to earn their degrees. Let’s hope this old owl isn’t ALL grey by the time her dream is realized! You’re welcome to follow along on my journey if you like . . . it should be a hoot. (Sorry. I’ll try to keep the lame owl references to a minimum. I promise.)
