- The Conservation Fund; environmental non-profit with a dual charter to pursue environmental preservation and economic development.
- Rails-to-Trails Conservancy; a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that works with communities to preserve unused rail corridors by transforming them into rail trails within the U.S.
- Travel and Tourism Research Association — non-profit association whose purpose is to enhance the quality, value, effectiveness and use of research in travel marketing, planning and development. Members represent a variety of segments from the greater international travel and tourism community, including educators, practitioners, research providers/consultants and users of research.
U.S. Cooperative Extension System –
- eXtension.org; knowledge-to-action service that is an integral part of the U.S. Cooperative Extension System, includes community of practice program.
- Journal of Extension; the official refereed journal of the U.S. Cooperative Extension System. It seeks to expand and update the research and knowledge base for Extension professionals and other adult educators to improve their effectiveness.
- National Sea Grant; the national Sea Grant College program seeks to enhance the practical use and conservation of coastal, marine and Great Lakes resources in order to create a sustainable economy and environment. A network of 33 Sea Grant programs in the coastal U.S. states and territories carries out this mission through research, extension and education activities.
U.S. Government –
- Agricultural Marketing Resource Center; agritourism section; national information resource for value-added agriculture. As a condition of USDA Rural Development grant, AgMRC cooperating universities prepare four reports a year and submit them to USDA. Reports summarize Web site development and functions (Commodities & Products, Markets & Industries and Renewable Energy sections), value-added business and economic analysis tools (Business Development section) and outreach activities (workshops, seminars, newsletters and WebMail inquiries).
- Environmental & Resource Economics Program – USDA National Institute of Food & Agriculture; programs focus on activities that apply economic theory and methods to study interactions between economic and natural systems. Climate change, bioenergy and environmental goods and services are major topics.
- U.S. Department of Agriculture; national institute of food and agriculture providing leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues based on public policy, the best available science and effective management.
U.S. National Parks Service –
- Land and Water Conservation Fund – National Parks Service; provides a system for funding of federal, state and local parks and conservation areas
- Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program – National Parks Service –; program that supports community-led natural resource conservation and outdoor recreation projects across the nation. National network of conservation and recreation planning professionals that partner with community groups, nonprofits, tribes, and state and local governments to design trails and parks, conserve and improve access to rivers, protect special places, and create recreation opportunities.
