New Extension Hybrid Teaching Toolbox Available (and Intro Webinar!)
Introducing a new online tool to help you build hybrid teaching into your Extension educational programming: the Teaching Hybrid in Extension Toolbox (THE Toolbox.)
Hybrid teaching brings together the best of both worlds in combining online activities with on-site classroom learning. It’s a very attractive format to our clients who increasingly prefer to find information online, and struggle to fit hours and hours of traditional classroom-based courses into their busy schedules. And hybrid teaching offers greater efficiency and capacity for you, the educator.
Join us as we offer a quick tour of THE Toolbox, a newly developed self-paced Canvas course aimed specifically at Extension educators. Along the way, we’ll review some of the basic principles of hybrid learning, introduce you to Canvas–OSU’s learning management system, demonstrate an Extension template for Canvas, and let you hear first-hand from OSU Extension faculty who have successfully created and delivered hybrid courses. And, there will be plenty of time for your questions.
Join your hosts Jeff Hino, Extension Learning Technology Leader, and Cub Kahn, coordinator of the Hybrid Course Initiative in the OSU Center for Teaching and Learning for this 60-minute Webex webinar on Wednesday, January 25th, at 2pm PST. To join the webinar, click on:
County Informational Pullsheets
In efforts to tell the story of Extension prom the unique perspective of individual Oregon counties, County Informational Pullsheets are being created that cater to each county. The pullsheets will look similar in design, but highlight the unique characteristics of each county.
The following is needed to help build a county pullsheet:
- Photo of what is unmistakably Curry (Top commodity in the county, community pride, county landmark, etc.)
- County Leader Photo.
- Quote from County Leader.
- Short 1-2 sentence blurbs for the back page describing various county areas of local expertise. (7-8 blurbs, 9 if space allows)
Please contact Jill Wells to start creating your county pullsheet.
