New Executive Director for the Oregon 4-H Foundation

From Pamela Rose and Scott Reed:
We are delighted to announce that Mr. Paul Carey is our new Executive Director for the Oregon 4-H Foundation and Director of Development for the Oregon 4-H Youth Development program. Mr. Carey will start in this position on December 1st.

Paul brings a wealth of experience in higher education fundraising and a strong passion for youth development programs. Over the course of his career, he has served in advanced leadership and fundraising positions, including Associate Vice President for Development roles at California State University, Fullerton, Whittier College, and with the Portland State University Foundation. Just prior to relocating to the Pacific Northwest, Paul served as the President of a private high school in southern California where he enjoyed working directly with youth. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders and an MBA from Chapman University in Orange, CA. Paul and his wife have three grown children.

In addition to Paul’s primary work location in the OSU Foundation’s Portland office, he will spend dedicated time in Corvallis, and within our Oregon counties.

We know you will join us in welcoming Paul to Oregon and to the great work happening across the state in Oregon 4-H. We know he will be a dedicated partner and colleague in our efforts to advance this extraordinary youth development program.

  1. I am thankful to be with my family in Ohio this week for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I am happy that my daughter will be able to play with her cousins.

Also, I am thankful for earmuffs as I will need them to survive the squealing of four girls under the age of four singing “Let It Go” on repeat the entire time I am there.

  2. I am thankful for Naia who joined my family 5 months ago (and growing so fast) — and for wonderful colleagues! -Tamara
