The EHS Intern serves within our Environmental, Health, and Safety team, will be responsible in ensuring company is compliant with local, state, and federal laws through the development and refinement of environmental and safety training programs. Occupational Health Internship Program (OHIP)
Apply for the Occupational Health Internship Program (OHIP). This is the 14th year of our very successful summer program that is designed as a field-based learning experience in occupational safety and health. Teams of two students are placed with labor unions or community-based organizations to work on projects that investigate job-related health and safety issues among workers, often of new immigrant groups, employed in an under-served or a high hazard job.

Agilyx Corporation, EHS intern
Agilyx Corporation is a Petrochemical Manufacturing facility in Tigard, Oregon that collects waste Polystyrene (Styrofoam) which would normally be disposed of in the landfill, and through thermal means convert it back into a styrene monomer which can be used to produce more Polystyrene. Workplace safety committee – Corvallis Montessori School
The Corvallis Montessori School here in town (next door to the North co-op) are looking for a community member to sit on our workplace safety committee.
Responsibilities include:
- Attending a short meeting each month (15 to 30 minutes) to review any concerns raised by staff about workplace safety.
- 4 safety walk-throughs to complete a facility safety checklist (roughly 1 hour each, September, December, March, and June).
This is a volunteer position but could be a great resume-building experience. I’d also be happy to supply a letter of recommendation on behalf of any individual who can commit through June 2018 and who excels in this capacity.
