When we look into how a company effectively applies Human Resources in their company, it is very important to evaluate when the people are saying. At American Express, 94% of employees say it is a great place to work. American express did a grate job of not only stating their overall satisfaction but also breaking it down by category. The categories are broken down into 5 other categories all showing a average of 95% or higher. After breaking up the categories that have a section for “Why work at AE” and listing all the “Best Workplace Lists” they have been on for the last 10 years. This company has done a great job of strategically selling potential candidates on why to apply.
At Adobe, their promises to focus on their employees and living by their values present in their results. 89% of employees state that their company is a great place to work and the people, culture and benefits are the main reasons they are there. Most employees were proud to tell others they worked there and felt that they are welcomed to the company when they first start.
At Salesforce, they state that they are focused on performance, career growth, implementing new paths and improvement to the state. With this in mind, it is interesting that they received the lowest score in the category of culture. 82% of employees state that is a great place to work and they are averaging in the 80s for 4/5 categories. When it comes to what they say specifically, employees focus on the benefits and people and less on innovation and new paths. It makes you wonder if the company promotes their values and focus to their people.
As someone who grew internally in their current company, I believe that a manage must be proficient in the skill of influence. I believe that can be the easiest and hardest part of a managers role. In order to make an influence and work well with different levels below and above you, you must be able to communicate in a way that is effective, delegate and receive by in on new ideas and principles. I want to be a manager that has a lot of influencing power so that I do not have to “manage” as different age groups and cultures work differently and it makes my job a lot easier if I am able to implement or council if I already have the trust in place.
