Unrecognized Disability

It’s not Just Me…

I have come to realize that this disability has become such a problem that people are now starting to inform others about it. I found a youtube video about a woman, who is so sensitive to electromagnetic fields that she practically never goes out of her house. It’s sad that this disability has to ruin one’s life, and make that person a hermit in his/her own home.

This woman has a bit of a unique problem in that she has a heart condition as well, which seems to have made her sensitivity even worse. She has some valid points when it comes to wanting her town to be the one to inform others of electrohypersensitivity, but she makes assumptions that the community will become more caring and vigilant in understanding the affects of hypersensitivity. While people may come to understand electrohypersensitivity, and the troubles it can bring, I don’t feel an entire community will come together, until more research is done, and proof is brought forward of the harm this can cause. If only people could understand the seriousness of this disability…it might truly make the community get behind this woman, and help her cause of informing everyone of electrohypersensitivity; I know she would like to have others understand how she feels, just as much as I would.

This video helped me to understand that there are a lot of people out there with the same condition as me, and often a lot worse then mine, but we still have the same wants…to inform everyone of the seriousness of electrohypersensitivity, and that if we all stood behind each other, we could make a difference in how we live our lives.
