This edition of our Recycling/Surplus Staff Spotlight features Andrea Norris.

Who: Andrea Norris (“Dre”), Marketing & Development Coordinator for Recycling and Surplus for almost 7 years

What she does here:
I work on recycling and surplus events, electronic and print marketing, the Waste Watchers club, recycling pilot programs, program assessment, and long-term planning.

One fave thing about her job:
Time spent working with volunteers, students and staff who also want to make an impact on waste reduction at OSU. They give me the inspiration and energy to continue the work I do.

If she could improve one thing about waste reduction at OSU:
We would have zero or near zero disposable coffee cups on campus because everyone would carry and use reusables. Not only would we reduce waste, but it would signal a shift in people’s mindset. You told me I could change any one thing, so I might as well dream big, right?

This post is part of the”Recycling/Surplus Staff Spotlight” blog series, which showcases staff from Campus Recycling and Surplus Property and will run regularly during the summer. Tune in throughout the summer for more.
