TDWI Announces 2016 Best Practices Awards Winners

Recognition for Innovative Big Data, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Analytics Implementations at TDWI San Diego, October 2 – 7

 

Seattle, WA, August 18, 2016—TDWI, the premier source for in-depth education and research on all things data, is pleased to announce the 2016 winners of its annual Best Practices Awards.

TDWI’s Best Practices Awards identifies and honors companies that demonstrate excellence and innovation in developing, deploying, and maintaining BI, DW, and related data management (DM) applications. All nominated solutions were evaluated on business impact, maturity, innovation, and relevance in their field.

New Business Intelligence Center website released

The website  for the Business Intelligence Center (BIC) is now live.  Please take a look and let us know what you think.

The website is solely dedicated to the work of the BIC Team and the systems they supoort. There are tabs for CORE, Grant Reporting System (GRS), the OSUF (Foundation), Data Governance, and Awards.  On the home page, there is a link to the Top 10 CORE Reports (ranked by popularity/most use), BIC News, and a BIC Calendar of events – such as those for the training sessions.

In the CORE section there is information about CORE, Security, FERPA, Training, Updates, FAQs,  Help, Data Analytics, CORE History and a link to CAS Login access CORE. Take a few minutes to explore the new site and check back periodically as more information and resources will be added as they become available. Continue reading

The BIC Team is excited to announce the receipt of another award! Oregon State University is the recipient of TDWI’s (The Data Warehouse Institute) Best Practices Award for BI & Analytics on a Limited Budget. Not a lot is known yet but the TDWI awards program is scheduled for October 2016.

The Jaspersoft training is comprised of two-90 minute sessions, over two dates, and participants are expected to attend both dates in the series. Once you complete the training series, you will be given access to CORE Data Analytics. Prior to attending, it is necessary for you to submit a new Request for Access form, and have it approved and set to Approved – Pending Training.  On the form, you need to clearly identify a business need for Jaspersoft access. Current access to BI Query is not a sufficient business need and does not guarantee Jaspersoft access. Continue reading

Intro to CORE

If you are new to OSU, a new CORE user, have new employees or customers or you need a refresher, the next Introduction to CORE class is scheduled for mid-October. Preregistration for this class is required and the registration link will open on September 1.  This session is not hands-on class, but an introductory high-level demonstration of the CORE system. Content for the class includes CORE access security, report-types, features, printing and saving reports, and more. Continue reading
