It is not by accident that the city of Corvallis and Oregon State University share many goals for the future.

Corvallis has been named America’s most innovative city and it certainly is one of the most livable communities in the U.S. Meanwhile, Oregon State is recognized as one of the most innovative and collaborative universities in the nation.

It is with that foundation that the City of Corvallis and Oregon State have undertaken a Collaboration Project to enhance the livability of both the community and the university … and maintain Corvallis’ unique sense of place.

As leaders of the city of Corvallis and Oregon State University, we are personally engaged in the Collaboration Project, which among other things will seek to manage the impacts of growth at the university and in the city. We recognize that while growth brings challenges, these challenges also offer opportunities to engage our community and campus stakeholders to innovate creative, visionary and effective solutions that work for everyone.

The Collaboration Process builds on longstanding and essential partnerships between the city of Corvallis, community members and OSU faculty, staff and students. We look forward to engaging with the community during the Collaboration Project, which will generate recommendations to the City Council and the university around the topics of traffic, transit and parking; neighborhood planning and neighborhood livability.

We look forward to working with you,
