Emergency Shutdown Notice – The Kerr Administration Building chiller was damaged due to the power outage that occurred on 8/31. This will affect cooling for the entire building. Facilities Services is currently working to source replacement parts. A restoral date is unknown at this time, but updates will be sent out when they are available.

The Richardson Hall chiller and chilled water system will be shut down Monday August 21, 5:00 am – Tuesday August 22, 2023 9:00 am for time sensitive repairs to keep the system operational for the duration of the cooling season. Building occupants will notice warmer than normal air temperatures during this time. This will not affect temperatures in the server rooms.

Emergency Shutdown Notice – The Crop Science Building chiller will be shut down immediately for emergency repairs. This will affect cooling building wide. A restoral date is unknown at this time due to parts availability.  An additional notice will be sent out when services have been restored.

As part of the Owen Hall chiller replacement, the chiller manufacturer will be installing additional equipment that will require the chiller to be shutdown. This will only impact comfort cooling. The secondary chiller will continue to support the labs. The primary chiller shutdown is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Owen Hall area map

As part of the North District Utility Plant (NDUP) and Cordley Hall Renewal projects, crews will be performing additional chiller start up procedures on three new chillers within the NDUP. Functional testing will again include integration with the existing chilled water loop beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, October 25 through 5 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021. Ag Life Sciences, Nash Hall, Cordley Hall, Wilkinson Hall and the Burt Complex could see chilled water flow and temperature fluctuations as a result of the testing procedures.

Update: Friday September 24, 2021 temperatures are expected to climb into the mid 80’s. Due to shipping delays, Facilities has been unable to obtain the parts necessary to make the final repairs.  Therefore, at this time we will not be able to hold comfortable temperatures in the building.  Please plan accordingly.

This shutdown will not affect the server room.
